And a Fairy on Top

28/12/2019

Geoff from the post office and his brother Mark stood at the bottom of the Village's huge Christmas tree. They were trying to coax the drunken fairy at the top to come down. As I understand it (from Santa no less - shhh dont tell him I told you) it is Marks wife pretending to be the fairy after visiting the steaming eggnog cart and having one too many! Meanwhile, their son is happily playing with his fire truck. To the left is the market selling yummy goodness and the frozen duck pond to work off all that sugar.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Santa 'Ho Ho Ho's!' his way back into the village with final gifts for the inhabitants of Winter Village. Everyone is excited that everything was done and out on time and very happy to see Santa still smiling broadly and wishing everyone a 'Merry Christmas!'. Once his last delivery was made Santa went through the toy shop up to the workshop and joined in the Elves after party. Mrs Claus had made extra cookies and his favourite swirlies. The Elves danced and partied into the evening... theres always one curious little scamp though... look out little elf 'Diddy' has found Aladdins lamps!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Art Gallery Tour

22/12/2019

Hi folks its Stephanie! I'm so excited! I’ve just been shown around the awesome art gallery by none other than Mr Pierre L'ego himself! There are all sorts of things in there to appeal to all art lovers. There’s classical art from the likes of Constable, Monet, Van Gogh and Da Vinci, side by side with pictures inspired by Mondrian and Picasso. Pierre even showed me his favourite piece, a special purchase by Skinner entitled 'Light Reading'. If paintings are not your thing then there are plenty of sculptures ranging from the Grecian 'Marble of Destiny' to the 'Toad of Passion'. There is even something for the gamers, a Staff from the Warcraft wars. But what really stole my heart was the special exhibit - 'The Bricks of Ten-te'. There is something mystical about them. I was allowed to give you a taste of some of the pictures below but it is no substitute for seeing them yourself! So everyone come and look around and perhaps buy one of Pierre's masterpieces for yourself in his art sale.

Pedro unveils latest artwork

15/12/2019

Pedro, a once promising student of Pierre is making an attempt to get in on the act as Pierre announces the imminent opening of his new art gallery.

He has today unveiled his latest artwork, a triptych with an 'organic' theme. Valued at a mere  120,000 studs, it would appear that it is a real investment (albeit short term), he points out that it is important to sell quickly before the artwork starts to devalue either due to time or teethmarks!

SHOCKING UPDATE!!!!!

In a bizarre twist to this story, when Pierre was asked what he thought of the piece his response was 'nice but better with a drop of custard' then he promptly ate the banana. Pedro just looked on mortified. Obviously Pierre was not going to display this in his grand opening. I suspect the two are now at war.

Steve runs Masons Pets and every morning makes his rounds with a cup of coffee in his hand and a cheery greeting. He has a way with animals and they all seem to love him, either that or it is his new aftershave; 'Animal' by Legcôme, though Holly thinks it makes him smell like a wet wheelbarrow at sunset. The shop has everything you could want for your pet, including the pet! His lovely wife Holly has just graduated from Vet School and is examining Mayor Arnold's trusty dog Kibbles as he has a nasty cough. So if you need a loving companion or a new toy for pet come along to see Steve and he'll sort you out. Got a poorly pet? Instead of traipsing to Sideboard City, come and see Holly! She can look after wildlife too!

Stephanie gets new studio

Hi all, good news everybody! After a lot of meetings (and copious Custard Cream Biscuits) with Larry, he agreed to let me have a purpose built photo studio for the bio photos, etc. There was a lot of confusion previously (or perhaps it was concern)  because I used to have to take all the shots in the alleyway behind Mick's ARC (scary place).
You can see me taking a few test shots with my Legonon 810-5D camera fitted with a new 4.8mm stud mounted lens, equipped with two 10mW spotlights. I was very quick to have some of my recent images mounted and displayed on the studio wall too. The studio also has interchangeable backdrops, a makeup table and a selection of props. This demonstrates that power of biscuits should not be underestimated!

Rosie Grady’s, The Best B&B in town

14/11/2019

Rosie Grady is the daughter of Clare & Reg L’ego who used to own the little cafe off the park. When she was a young girl she visited the city to see the Lego museum and whilst there met dad. It was love at first sight. Rosie is my mum. Dad is a truck driver and due to the work is often away for months at a time. She found looking after me and my brother Ted (who you've met at the cafe) quite the handful but when my little sister Sam was coming along the decision was made to come back to Lego Planet.

Although technically the only B&B in Lego Planet, it is still the best place to stay when you visit here. When Grandma Clare & Grandpa Reg won the lottery, they bought a big yacht – The Dolphin – and embarked on a nautical retirement. As we had grown up and left on our own brief adventures at college and the city, she decided to open the B & B so she wasn’t so lonely.  It is a fabulous place, clean and well decorated. Lit with state of the art lighting and very comfortable beds – I know first-hand! Breakfast is included in the stay and if you’re willing to eat whatever is made you can join us for dinner too. All in all it’s the best accommodation in town!

Rosie was stood on the steps to her house talking to Leo the postman. 'More bills I'm afraid Rosie.' She just smiled at him, 'Not to worry Leo dear. I've got some visitors coming for the grand opening of the art gallery this weekend. I'm sure it will attract more people once our Larry has covered it in his paper.' She waved at me and Leo did too. That's my mum, always positive. I can see the first of her visitors laden with bags walking down the street. I had better go and help!

Mick's ARC

11/11/2019

In an undisclosed location in the shadier part of the planet a new establishment has just been opened by Mick. Tired of living in a region where other legolians think that their opinions matter, Mick is putting his specialised education in acrylonitrile butadiene styrene recycling to good use. All types of 'Attitude Readjusters' are available, many of which would only need to be used once of course hence the option of hiring. For obvious reasons you cannot hire the dynamite! Bearing in mind the purpose of the shop I would recommend that you do not enter with any kind of attitude, Mick has a less than zero tolerance. On a positive note, he has won 'Strictly Come Shooting' 7 years in a row and also enjoys cake decorating, though that will be another story. So, if you feel like a bit of excitement in your life pop along, only open between midnight and 2am as his day job as a traffic warden takes priority (be careful where you park)!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Amelia and Cosgrove slowly walked through the gates with Batty hanging from his favourite bone. It was his first Halloween Party and he was very excited.

Cyril the Skeleton was annoyed. Too much noise while he tried to read his favourite magazine in the cosy tree stump.

The Greybeard twins were arguing over their gold treasure chest about who's scimitar was biggest and sharpest.

Harvey was holding his pumpkin bucket out to take the collection as the congregation of Lego Planet filed into the church but was worried he would have to step between the pirate brothers before more legs were lost. He had already generously donated his beanie to Tom Cobbley who was complaining that his head was cold.

High above the entrance Dr Brainsack and his talented assistant Izodora were cooking up something special for the festivities. The doctor had brought his special tipple to spike the punch and Izodora had contributed the 'essence of bat'.

Beside the church, Emperor Ming had come out of his tomb and way trying to raise the dead, with mixed results. His staff was giving off sparks but all he could conjure were flowers! All the other skeletons laughed at him as they got up to go into the party.

Inside the church everyone was having a great time. The vicar was preaching and getting everyone waving their hands in the air. Soon he'll have them dancing in the aisles.

My Big Break

Hi everyone,

My name is Stephanie L'Ego. I'm not originally from our little town like Larry. I'm from Friendsville which is twinned with L'Ego town. I'll tell you more about my home town at a later date as I'm sure I will be back from time to time.

I managed to come out of school with some good grades, especially in English and Baking. I always knew I wanted to be a journalist and regularly contributed to our school paper but my first job was with the wonderful Bob from Bobs Big Bun Bakery and Bookshop. I would decorate the cupcakes for him. :-)

Last year Larry had gone on a leave of absence and my chance came when Mick sent him to the 'ARC' - still don't know what that is yet and Larry gets a faraway look in his eye, shivers and walks away if you try and talk to him about it.

While he was gone an advert came out in the paper offering a junior position so I leapt at it. As you can see from the interview line up there was quite the mix of characters, I did think that the pasty gentleman second from the left was going to get the job. His accent was very strong but he had a flare for the dramatic but no, it was me!
Ok, so thats it for now. I'll be back soon.... Stephanie xx
